Privacy Policy

How SIP Egypt collects, uses, and protects personal data across our website, platform, and AI voice agents.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how SIP Egypt (“we,” “us,” “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal data when you visit our website, use our platform, or interact with an AI voice agent or call handled through our Services. It’s written to align with Egypt’s Personal Data Protection Law No. 151 of 2020 (the “PDPL”) and its November 2025 Executive Regulations.

This policy applies to visitors to sipegypt.com, our registered business customers, and — where relevant — to individuals who call or are called through a phone number provisioned on the SIP Egypt platform.

2. Data We Collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • Account & contact data: Name, business name, email, phone number, and billing details when you sign up or contact us.
  • Usage data: How you use the dashboard, feature usage, call volume statistics, and log data related to your account.
  • Payment data: Billing information processed via our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers on our own servers.
  • Website data: Pages visited, browser type, and approximate location via cookies and similar technologies (see our Cookie Policy).
  • Call data: As described in Section 3 below, for calls routed through SIP trunking or handled by an AI voice agent.

3. Call Data & AI Voice Processing

When calls are placed or received through the SIP Egypt platform, we may process:

  • Call metadata: Caller and recipient number, timestamp, duration, and routing information.
  • Call audio, recordings, and transcripts: Where your account has recording or AI voice agent features enabled.
  • Task information: Information the AI voice agent captures during a call to complete a task — for example, appointment details, contact information provided by the caller, or the nature of a support request.
Call audio processed by our AI voice agents is sent to language-processing systems (including third-party AI model providers under contract with us) to generate real-time responses. We contractually require these providers to handle audio and transcripts securely and not to use them to train their own general-purpose models without authorization.

Note for our business customers: If you enable call recording or the AI voice agent for your number, you are the “controller” of the personal data of your own callers under the PDPL, and SIP Egypt acts as a “processor” on your behalf. You’re responsible for ensuring callers are informed as required by law (for example, via a recorded announcement), and we provide configuration options to help with this.

4. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the Services, including routing calls and operating AI voice agents.
  • To bill for usage and manage your account.
  • To respond to support requests and communicate service-related updates.
  • To monitor for fraud, security threats, and abuse of the platform.
  • To meet legal and regulatory obligations, including those under the PDPL and Egyptian telecommunications law.
  • With your consent, to send marketing communications, which you can opt out of at any time.

5. Legal Basis for Processing

Under the PDPL, we process personal data on one or more of the following bases:

  • Your explicit consent (for example, when you sign up or opt into marketing).
  • The necessity of processing to perform our contract with you (delivering the Services you’ve subscribed to).
  • Our legitimate interests in operating and securing the platform, balanced against your rights.
Where required, we’ll obtain your explicit consent before processing sensitive categories of data.

6. How We Share Data

We do not sell personal data. We share data only with:

  • Infrastructure & carrier partners: To route calls and provision numbers, this necessarily involves telecom carriers and cloud hosting providers.
  • AI & processing subprocessors: Providers of the language and speech models that power our AI voice agents, under data processing agreements.
  • Payment processors: To handle billing securely.
  • Legal & regulatory bodies: Where required by law, court order, or a lawful request from Egyptian authorities, including the Personal Data Protection Center.
  • Business transfers: If SIP Egypt is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, data may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this policy’s protections continuing to apply.

7. International Data Transfers

Some of our infrastructure and AI processing subprocessors may be located outside Egypt. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we take steps required under the PDPL’s Executive Regulations for cross-border transfers, including using processors that provide an adequate level of protection or are bound by appropriate contractual safeguards, and, where required, seeking the necessary approvals from the Personal Data Protection Center.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy:

  • Account data: For the duration of your subscription plus a reasonable period afterward for legal and accounting purposes.
  • Call recordings and transcripts: For the period set by your plan’s configuration (customers can typically configure shorter retention windows).
  • Billing records: For the period required under Egyptian tax and commercial law.

9. Data Security

We use industry-standard safeguards to protect personal data, including encryption of call signaling and, where supported, call audio in transit, access controls limiting who can view customer and call data, and monitoring for unauthorized access or fraud. No system is completely secure, and we encourage customers to also follow good security practices on their end (strong passwords, restricted account access).

10. Your Rights

Under the PDPL, individuals have the right to:

  • Be informed about how their personal data is processed.
  • Access a copy of their personal data held by us.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of their data, subject to legal retention requirements.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing, including direct marketing.
  • Withdraw previously given consent at any time.
To exercise these rights, contact us at info@sipegypt.com. If your data was processed on behalf of one of our business customers (for example, because you called a number they operate), you may also need to contact that business directly, as they act as the controller of that data.

11. Cookies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to operate correctly and understand site usage. Details of what we use and how to manage your preferences are set out in our Cookie Policy.

12. Children’s Privacy

The Services are intended for business use and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we’ll take steps to delete it.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We’ll post any changes on this page with a new “Last updated” date, and for material changes, we’ll make reasonable efforts to notify active customers directly.
